Grievance and data protection
Questions, requests or grievances about personal data under the DPDP Act 2023 can be raised with our Grievance Officer.

Security practices
Data in India
Customer data for our institutional products is hosted in India.
Encryption
Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest with AES-256.
Access control
Role-based access inside each workspace. Merdot staff access customer data only when needed to support that customer.
Audit trails
Administrative actions are logged so institutions can review who did what.
No resale of data
We do not sell customer data or use it for advertising.
Reporting issues
Security concerns can be reported to Contact@merdot.com. We review every report.
Legal and government requests
We respond only to requests made under Indian law through proper legal process. Each request is reviewed for validity and scope, and we disclose only what the request requires.
Where the law allows, we inform the affected institution before disclosing its data. For institutional customers, we direct requests to the institution first where possible.

Every inbox is protected by Guardian.
Incoming mail is checked before it reaches the inbox. Suspicious messages are held in quarantine, and the user is told why.
Spam
Bulk and unwanted mail is filtered out.
Phishing and fake links
Links that imitate real sites are caught before anyone clicks.
Fake or malicious attachments
A file pretending to be a document, such as an app disguised as a PDF, is held back.
